In short

  • No data collected. We receive none of your information about your home, your documents or your photos.
  • Everything stays on your phone, in the app's private storage.
  • Google Drive backup is optional: it goes straight from your phone to your own Drive, into a hidden folder we have no access to.
  • No account, no ads, no analytics. This is also what we declare in the “Data safety” section of Google Play.

1. Who publishes Carnet Maison?

Carnet Maison is published by Nicolas Saurel, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) operating under the trade name appserre (full details in the legal notice). For any question: info@appserre.fr.

2. The data you enter

To work, Carnet Maison saves what you record in it, in particular:

This information is saved only on your phone, in the app's private storage. We have no access to it: we cannot view it, change it or pass it on to anyone. The tradespeople's details you enter also stay on your phone, for your personal use.

3. Camera and text recognition

The camera is used to photograph an appliance's rating plate or to scan a document. Text recognition (brand, model, serial number, invoice content) is done on your phone by ML Kit, a component provided by Google. Images and the text read are sent neither to us nor to Google. As stated in its terms, this component may send Google technical statistics about its own operation (performance, phone model), which contain neither your images nor their content.

4. Contacts

To add a tradesperson from your contacts, the app uses Android's contact picker: only the contact you choose is imported. Carnet Maison does not have permission to read all your contacts.

5. Backups

Carnet Maison's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice, Carnet Maison only uses its access to Google Drive to save and restore your backups, and never passes this data on to anyone.

6. Subscription and payments

Premium purchases (monthly or yearly subscription, lifetime purchase) go through Google Play. Payment is processed by Google: we never receive your bank details. The app checks with Google Play whether your purchase is active.

Google gives us limited information about orders (order number, product, date, amount, country). We use it only for accounting and to help you if there is a payment problem. The data Google processes for payments is covered by Google's privacy policy.

7. Notifications

Maintenance, warranty and survey reminders are calculated and scheduled on your phone. They go through no server. You can adjust them in the app or turn them off in Android settings.

8. Permissions requested

Carnet Maison does not access your location, all your contacts, or any files other than those you choose.

9. Analytics and crashes

Carnet Maison contains no analytics tool, no advertising ID and no third-party crash reporting tool. If you have agreed in your phone settings to share diagnostic data with Google, Google may give us overall, anonymous statistics on the app's stability. They contain none of your data.

10. Links to official texts

Links to Légifrance or service-public.fr open in your browser. These websites have their own privacy rules.

11. Retention and deletion

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. “Delete all my data” in Settings erases the database, the documents and, if you ask, the Google Drive backup. Uninstalling the app also erases all data stored on the phone.

12. Children

Carnet Maison is intended for adults who manage a home. It collects no data, including children's data.

13. Your rights

As we hold no data about you in the app, you exercise your rights directly in Carnet Maison: you can view, correct, export and delete all your data yourself.

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and keep them for no more than 3 years after our last exchange. You can ask for access, correction or deletion at info@appserre.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr), or with the authority in your country.

14. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date. If the change is significant, the app will let you know.

15. Contact

Email: info@appserre.fr. Full details: legal notice.
